Fire Extinguisher Hazardous Materials Charge

A minimum charge of $25.00 per box needs to be added on the the total cost (including shipping) of the order. When shpping, generally about 70 lbs. of fire extinguishers fit in a box. The weight of each fire extinguisher determines how many can fit in a box. Please keep in mind the shipping weight of a fire extinguisher is about twice the weight of the fire extinguishing agent inside. For example, a 2.5 lb. fire extinguisher has a ship weight of about 5 lbs. So, if you order twelve (12) of the 2.5 lb. fire extinguishers, then the hazmat charge would be $25.00; whereas 24 of the 2.5 lb. fire extinguishers would be $50.00, and so forth. Quantity orders will spread the cost, but how many shipped in the box is determined by the fire extinguisher weight. Use the following numbers as a guideline to the Hazardous Materials Surcharge and how it relates to each fire extinguisher.

• Approximately Twelve (12) 2.5 lb. Fire Extinguishers Per Box

• Approximately Six (6) 5 lb. Fire Extinguishers Per Box

• Approximately Three (3) 10 lb. Fire Extinguishers Per Box

• Approximately Two (2) 20 lb. Fire Extinguishers Per Box
