First Aid
When it comes to first aid, choosing an adequate commercial first aid kit to match the need is sometimes difficult to assess. Since most companies or homes do not have a clinic or hospital adjacent to their location, the first aid contents chosen should be more than sufficient to handle accidents in the workplace. In addition, there should be in reserve replacement first aid items either in stock or immediately accessible in the event an accident occurs. Even an hour without the necessary first aid supplies can be detrimental to a worker's safety. According to the American National Standard (ANSI) Z308.1-1998 " Minimum Requirements for Workplace First-Aid Kits", there are certain first aid kit minimums that are necessary in the workplace. ANSI minimum consists of the following:
