Performing any job or task when it involves the safety of others or yourself requires the utmost care, concern and compliance by employers in industry, transportation, corrections and government.  According to many worldwide studies and evidence, operating any equipment, vehicles, or simply overseeing an operation, requires that individuals are not under the influence of alcohol while performing their duties in private business or the public sector. 

 

Consumption of alcohol impairs the judgement and should be tested for by the employer if an alcohol testing program is in place.  A simple way of examining the degree of intoxication is by performing breath alcohol tests.  There are sophisticated electronic alcohol testers available in the workplace and simple portable alchol tubes that are available for mobile testing.  Either way, alcohol testing is necessary to keep all people safe and reduce alcohol-related death or injury.
