3M Respirator Cartridges listed below are used used for the 3M 6000 Respirator and the 3M 7000 Respirator.  3M Respirator Cartridges and 3M Respirator Filters are only used on 3M Respirators only which include the 3M 6000 Respirator - Full Face Respirator, which is a versatile respirator used in many applications,  the 3M 6000 Respirator - Half Face Respirator, which is a low-profile respirator which allows safety glasses to be worn, the 3M 7800S Respirator - Full Face Respirator which has a speaking diaphragm for communication and the 3M 7500Respirator - Half Face Respirator which has an exhalation valve for easier breathing.  All of these respirator cartridges are specific in their protection.  

When choosing a respirator or respirator cartridge, an organization or safety personell need to assess the particular need and do an analysis of the threat before choosing the proper respirator cartridge.  Cartridges by 3M protect against a wide range of breathing dangers from particulates and chemicals. Sometimes the choice can be a simple respirator cartridge for dust particles or sometimes to protect against acid gases organic vapor or even formaldehyde.  OSHA also requires fit tests to ensure the proper fit for workers who use respirators.  Remember that an appropriate change out schedule must be developed by a qualified professional unless the cartrdge has an end of life indicator.  An even more conservative change out schedule may be necessary if exposure is greater than normal.  Only the company or individuals using the cartridges can determine when the change out time is by having a safety professional analysis of the air prior to choosing the correct cartridge and time of use.  Use the 3M Cartridge & Filter Guide below to assist in choosing the correct cartridge for the application.
