Pedi•padz II electrodes were designed by Zoll specifically to use with the Zoll AED Plus. Anatomical diagrams on the package ensure proper pad placement. The ZOLL AED PlusTM Intelligent Pediatric Capability includes voice and text prompts that inform rescuers that pedi•padz® II are connected to ensure that the correct electrodes are attached. Algorithms are specific to adults and to children. So it is absolutely necessary to use the correct pad to properly analyze a victim’s heart rhythm. The ZOLL AED Plus with the Pedi Padz II Electrodes are capable of defibrillating children up to eight years of age. Electronics in the AED Plus adjust defibrillating energy levels automatically to the pediatric patients so that suitable doses are precisely delivered when needed. The AED Plus provides ECG analysis specific for a pediatric heart rate along with appropriate defibrillation energy levels.
