Respirator Fit Test Kits


Respirator Fit Test Kits are a necessary addition to a respiratory program.  According to OSHA standard 1910.134 App A, the mandatory fit testing procedures  require that the employer conduct fit testing using Qualitative Fit Testing or Quantitative Fit Testing.  Picking the best fitting respirator is the first step to assuring the best seal and acceptable fit such as how the mask is positioned, comfort, fit accross the bridge, tendency of respirator to slip and more.  Testing cannot be done it there is facial hair of any kind that interferes with the seal of the respirator on the face.  If the seal feels good then further testing such as deep breathing, turning head side to side, moving head up and down, and talking.  Please read the Respiratory Fit Test Procedures published by OSHA.
