Mace PepperGel is a formulation of OC pepper in a sticky gel rather than a liquid spray.  The gel has many advantages over the liquid spray such that it can spray up to 25 feet while limiting the contamination to the surrounding area.  When the PepperGel is sprayed at the attacker he or she is immediately blindfolded by the strong dose of OC pepper, which causes intense burning, itching, and coughing that lasts for 45 minutes.  There is no blowback of the spray in the wind due to the thick formula of the gel which eliminates the user from any effects of the spray.  When the gel is sprayed on the attacker an invisible UV dye is left on the face which is effective in aiding in identification later on.
