Universal's Ionization DC 9 Volt Battery Operated Silence Smoke Alarm can easily replace existing smoke alarms and comes with a mounting plate which can be installed over any standard rectangular or octagonal drywall cutout or junction box. The alarm has a five year warranty and the Lithium battery has a 10 year back up warranty.  The UL approved alarm has an 85 dB horn and a dual ionization sensor, which can be silenced and automatically reset to dismiss nuisance alarms. To assure that the smoke alarm is working properly an LED light flashes. A chamber cover protects the smoke alarm and is designed to keep away insects and contaminants from entering the device.
