The Universal DC Ionization Battery Operated Smoke Alarm is designed to replace existing smoke alarms which includes a separate mounting plate that can be easily installed and attached to any standard rectangular or octagon junction box to cover drywall cutouts.  This smoke alarm includes a 9V battery and indicates when the battery is low. The alarm is designed with a chamber cover to protect the alarm from being contaminated by insects and has a dual ionization sensor a power test button.
