Speakman's SE-350 Thermostatic Mixing Valve supports up to three emergency showers and/or eyewashes. The SE-350 is made of two independent thermostats housing in a single casting. The twin thermostatic cartridges respond independently to the incoming hot and cold water and provide backup protection against element failure. If one fails, the other continues to function. The SE-350 mixing valve is set at the factory to deliver 85ºF outlet flow. The thermostatic cartridge responds to changes in the hot and cold water supplies. If the element fails, the valve will provide cold water flow. With the new ANSI Z-358.1 2009 standard, it is now mandatory that the the water be not just tepid, but be between 60 and 100 degrees fahrenheit. Thermostatic mixing valve should be vandal resistant with the use of lockout/tagout.
