PAPR - Powered Air Purifying Respirators

A Powered Air-Purifying Respirator (PAPR) uses a battery powered blower that creates a positive air pressure with a continuous flow of filtered air inside the respirator which gives yields a better seal around the face.  A PAPR comes in a variety of head protection options such as hoods, facepieces and filters.  A PAPR is used by responders in an emergency or by workers when the atmosphere contains chemicals, biological and radiological contaminents and also nuclear (CBRN) respiratory hazards.
